Arrest Made In January 12th Shooting Near 18th And Vinton

OMAHA, Nebraska - An arrest is made in a shooting at 18th and Vinton that injured a 27 year old man on Sunday, January 12th.

The Omaha Police Department Gang Unit detectives located the vehicle and the suspect near 17th and Bancroft Monday at 7 p.m. Rosalio Blaz-Ventura was taken into custody and taken to to Police Headquarters for questioning. He was then booked for 2nd degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, attempted felony assault and additional misdemeanor gun charges.

The shooting happened after an argument at the River City Saloon earlier on the night of January 12th. Blaz-Ventura had been removed from the business. Police say he later returned and fired shots near the front door before taking off running.

The victim continues to recover.
