Suspect Arrested In December Injury Hit-And-Run Crash

OMAHA, Nebraska - Omaha Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run injury accident that happened on December 1st near 156th and West Dodge Road.

On that day, officers responded to a hit-and-run accident involving a Ford Fusion that was traveling more than 108 miles per hour. That vehicle hit a Ford Edge and that pushed the car into the inside barrier on West Dodge Road. The Fusion kept on going heading eastbound on West Dodge.

Four teenagers in the Edge were hurt.

Omaha investigators identified the driver of the Fusion as 23 year old Chase Ahlers. On Friday, January 17th, Ahlers was booked for leaving the scene of a personal injury crash causing serious bodily injury and willful reckless driving. Investigators also believe alcohol was a factor.

Police say witnesses to the crash provided vital information that solved this case.
