Omaha City Crews Are Ready For The Snow

OMAHA, Nebraska - Omaha snow plows are ready to hit the streets.

Engineer Austin Rowser tells KFAB Radio news, "We've got some brine down on our major streets. We worked on that overnight. We have all our trucks ready and they will be on until we are done with everything. We have all of our contractors on call if they are needed. There is the two inch threshold that we bring them in for that and we are all set up and ready to go."

The contractors take care of snow removal on residential streets.

Rowser says they are ready to take care of a snow of this scale. We are on the north side of this storm so the Omaha metro area can expect to see all snow and no ice. Rowser says the precipitation rate is less than an inch an hour is pretty standard and typical to deal with.
