OMAHA, Nebraska - One person is recovering after a house fire at 50th and Browne Street early New Year's Day. Omaha Fire Department crews were notified that a person was possibly injured. When they arrived they saw fire coming from a dining room window.
One person was located and taken to a hospital with burns and injuries from the fire. Two others inside were not hurt.
There were five cats inside the home. Fire crews were able to successfully rescue three of them.
Investigators determined the fire to be accidental due to careless cooking.
