Sixty People Left Homeless In Fire Caused By "Youth Fire Play"

There were no injuries early Friday evening in a three alarm Omaha apartment building fire that investigators say was accidental in nature, caused by "youth fire play."

60 residents were displaced in the fire near 16th and Burdette Streets, and the fire department estimated damage at 250-thousand dollars.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames on the top floor of the building when they pulled up around 6:15 P.M. Flames were coming through a window, and the fire had spread into the roof.

The Red Cross has been helping those who were displaced.
