DCHD Debuts Air Quality Website

OMAHA, Nebraska - The Douglas County Health Department launched a new website where you can monitor air quality pollutants like particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and ozone.

It provides the most current information available that includes local seasonal pollen counts.

“Douglas County generally has good air quality, but, it still needs to be monitored for people who spend time working outdoors and others who have respiratory issues,” said Health Director, Dr. Adi Pour. “For some people, that knowledge literally is a life-saver.”

Pollutants are an unpleasant fact in the modern world, but extensive work is done to raise the awareness of these conditions for the people who live in it and breathe our air every day. The task of checking what is in our Douglas County air is handled by the Air Quality Section of the Douglas County Health Department.

The website is clear and intuitive to use. It offers striking pollutant visuals and can be as simple as getting the current air quality conditions or as in-depth as learning the “what and the why” of air quality. We encourage you to visit www.douglascountyairquality.com to learn more about how we can all work together to improve our air quality.
