OMAHA, Nebraska - Starting Friday, December 13th, more lanes will close on Douglas Street downtown for ongoing utility work north of the Gene Leahy Mall. This will reduce Douglas Street to one lane through the end of the year.
The two northernmost lanes of Douglas between 14th and 10th Streets will close.
The southernmost lane of Douglas Street between 14th and 10th Streets will close.
One middle lane of Douglas Street will remain open during this week so traffic will not be completely restricted. However, commuters may notice slowdowns.
Work also continues on 8th Street and it will not reopen before the end of the year.
