Suspicious Package At Offutt AFB Determined Not A Threat

BELLEVUE, Nebraska - The STRATCOM gate at Offutt Air Force Base reopened after a suspicious package was found in a vehicle Wednesday morning.

At 8:45 a.m., a military dog alerted security personnel about the package during a routine inspection at USSSTRATCOM Gate 1 as the vehicle was entering the base. Those needing to enter or leave the base were advised to use the Kenney Gate while the 55th Security Forces Squadron worked with Omaha Police to investigate. It was then determined the package was not a threat.

Gate 1 reopened just after 10 a.m.
