OMAHA, Nebraska - Major League Baseball announced today they are moving their draft from New Jersey to Omaha.
In a statement posted on MLB.com, Commissioner Rob Manfred stated, "Major League Baseball is excited to bring the Draft to the site of the College World Series, where the top collegiate players will be competing later that week for a national championship. Placing the Draft in the competitive atmosphere of Omaha will bring greater exposure to the event and give future professional players a more rewarding Draft day experience."
6 News reports the draft will be held June 10th through the 12th, 2020 at the Holland Performing Arts Center. The College World Series is set to start on June 13th.
