Lincoln Man Accused of Holding Knife To Elderly Woman's Neck

A 27 year old Lincoln man has been arrested after they say he held a knife to the throat of a 73 year old woman after she refused to give him a ride.

Police say the woman was getting in her car near 10th and South Streets around 7:00 p.m. Monday when a man approached her. She told officers the man asked her for a ride.

When the victim told him she couldn't give him a ride she said he put a knife to her neck. The woman told officers she struggled with the man and was able to get the knife away from her chest. She also reported the man tried to stab her in the chest.

Police say she was then able to honk the car's horn to get the attention of other people and the man ran off.

Police say they caught up to Guno Yankton a block away after he was caught kicking in two apartment doors.

Guno was arrested for attempted 2nd degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
