Snow And Wind Snarl Metro Rush Hour Traffic

As expected, a cold front with gusty winds came through eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa in the middle of the Monday morning commute, causing reduced visibility with blowing snow, slick conditions, slow traffic, and accidents.

As the relatively narrow band of snow fell, Omaha Police went on "Accident Alert," only responding to more serious collisions.

The situation eased after 9 A.M., but despite the sunshine, the cold temperatures remain.
