Nebraska State Patrol Hunting Down Stolen Vehicles

LINCOLN, Nebraska - State troopers spent a good part of the weekend tracking down stolen cars and making arrests.

On Saturday morning, a trooper saw a Mazda 3 run a red light at 114th and Dodge. The trooper tried to stop the car but the driver took off. The vehicle weaved through the area and when it reached 34th and L, the driver tried to go over a curb and became stuck.

The driver, 33 year old Tabitha Viktora of Omaha was arrested for felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger was also arrested.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, a trooper noticed a Chevrolet Silverado had been stolen and was on Highway 77 near Walthill. About 30 minutes later, a trooper located a female who had been driving the pickup and was walking away from the area. The trooper found a firearm in the woman's waistband.

An 18 year old Juvenile from South Dakota was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle, theft, carrying a concealed weapon, and no operator’s license.
