Lincoln Man Found Passed Out Behind The Wheel

LINCOLN, Nebraska - A man in Lincoln is facing a long list of charges after police found him passed out inside a pickup near 46th and Orchard Street on Sunday.

Just after 2:45 a.m., Lincoln police found 33 year old Jermaine Sidney in the driver's seat. The vehicle was in the westbound lane and the turn signal was on. One tire was on the curb and the driver's side door was ajar. Police say Sidney appeared to be passed out and was wearing only one shoe.

The officer turned off the vehicle and tried to wake Sidney who refused to get out of the vehicle. He and officers then struggled but officers were able to take Sidney into custody.

During the investigation, police say that Sidney kicked the officer and stated he had gang ties. He then apparently made threats stating he would find out the officer lived and would kill him. Sidney also said he would find the officer's family and kids and slowly kill them. Sidney continued to make violent threats to the officer throughout the investigation.

Sidney was arrested for 4th offense DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, 4th offense, driving while revoked, making terroristic threats and 3rd degree assault on a police officer. His probation officer was also made aware of the arrest.
