Federal Prison Sentence For Pharmacy Robbery

OMAHA, Nebraska - A man is sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for the robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on Galvin Road in Bellevue in October of 2018.

Otis Brown III was also ordered to pay more than $61,000 in restitution and spend five years on supervised release once he is out of prison. He pleaded guilty to robbing a business involved in interstate commerce and brandishing a firearm during a robbery.

Records show that Brown and two other men drove from Indianapolis to Bellevue to commit the robbery. Brown and Daewoo Robertson went into the store while the third waited as the get-away driver. Robertson was armed with a gun and pointed it at employees and a customer while he and Brown zip-tied them. They took controlled substances, got in the get-away car and took off.

The three were caught a short time later. Officers searched the ca and found the gun, zip-ties and a garbage bag with the stolen drugs. Medications that leave the store cannot be resold and have to be destroyed.

Brown is serving time in federal prison where there is not a parole option.
