Northeast Nebraska Police Chase In Stolen Truck

WAYNE, Nebraska - The Nebraska State Patrol and several other law enforcement agencies made an arrest Thursday afternoon following a pursuit during the investigation of a stolen vehicle. This happened in Wayne County.

Law enforcement was notified to be on the lookout for a stolen 2017 Dodge Ram pickup as it had been spotted in several areas Thursday morning. At 1:45 p.m., they received a report the truck was on Highway 15 south of Wayne. Several agencies gave chase as the vehicle took off.

At 2:10, a State Trooper found the stolen truck about five miles south of Wayne. The trooper then called the State Patrol's Aviation Support Division which had tracked the vehicle from the air as it drove onto a minimum maintenance road. The truck then became stuck.

The driver took off on foot and was located a short distance away by one of the State Patrol police dogs. 35 year old Robert Wagle of Summerville, South Carolina was arrested felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, assault, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Additional charges are pending. Wagle was lodged in Antelope County Jail.
