Man Accused of Failing To Report Death Of Mother For Months

OMAHA, Nebraska - A 47 year old Omaha man is behind bars for concealing the death of another person.

Omaha Police were sent to 76 year old Geraldine Snoza's home at 40th and Burt on Thursday. A bank had contacted the police as they had not been able to reach Snoza for three months.

6 News reports police arrived at the home and spoke with her son, Shawn Snoza. He first told police his mother was not home but later admitted that she died last July. Police found her body in a back bedroom.

Snoza was taken in for questioning and when asked why he did not report his mother's death he stated he didn't want to deal with it. Since the woman's death had not been reported, social security and pension payments continued. Police say Snoza had not worked for several years.
