Nebraska, Creighton Volleyball Teams Headed To NCAA Tournament

Nebraska and Creighton's women's volleyball teams are headed to the NCAA Tournament. The Cornhuskers will be seeded fifth overall and will host Ball State on Friday in the opening round.

"I am pretty happy we got a five seed, I really felt when you look at our non-conference schedule our work in the Big Ten I was worried I saw RPI thing 9th or 10th I felt like we were a couple points away Purdue win that and we are probably hosting a regional there is a fine line there but I feel good about being a fifth seed and I thin the committee realizes e won some big matches and we play in a really tough conference," head coach John Cook says.

First Round – Friday, Dec. 6

Creighton earned an at-large bid. The Blue Jays will play Iowa State on Friday at 4:30 in Minnesota.

"We knew that if we didn't host we would be on a flight at Minnesota or Nebraska were the two locations we would going in the 400-mile radius," Creighton Head Coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth said.

"Obviously Iowa State is a great team, we played them in the exhibition, we are very familiar with their program they are very familiar with us. We are looking forward to getting prepped all week. This is always such a fun time there is just an adrenaline rush that kicks in for everybody, the staff is already at the office breaking down film and you know this is just an exciting time", she says.

Minnesota will face Fairfiled in the other opening round match at 7:00.
