OMAHA, Nebraska - It was an early start to the day for more than 100 volunteers as they prepared Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens throughout the metro area.
This is a Salvation Army tradition.
6 News reports the work started for some in the kitchen at the Kroc Center at 5 a.m. About 50 volunteers formed an assembly line to box up the meals. From there, drivers delivered the meals to senor citizens in the area that otherwise may have not had a holiday meal.
This is the 28th year the Salvation Army has prepared and delivered meals to those in need on Thanksgiving Day.
