OMAHA, Nebraska - A woman's been hit and killed by a car while walking across West Maple Street in Omaha. Police say she was crossing from south to north at 147th Street and West Maple Road just after 10:00 Sunday night when she was hit by a passenger car, a Hyundai Sonata.
The woman was taken to Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy with paramedics performing CPR, but she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Omaha police say they do not suspect excessive speed or alcohol as factors in the crash. Investigators also say there is no marked crosswalk at the intersection.
The woman's name is being withheld so family can be notified.
