Millard South Student Arrested For Making Terroristic Threats

MILLARD, Nebraska - A 14 year old Millard South High School student was arrested Thursday night after an investigation by Omaha Police. The student was booked into the Douglas County Youth Center for making terroristic threats.

The Millard District said this incident happened outside school grounds but threats were made against the school. The school's administration then called the police.

Working together, the student was located and taken into custody without incident around 7:20 Thursday.

6 News states the following letter from Principal Heidi Weaver was sent out to parents following the investigation:

The following letter from the Millard South Principal was sent out Friday morning:

Dear Millard South Community,

I’m writing to keep you informed. It was brought to our attention last night that one of our students made threats against the school. We immediately contacted police. They began a full investigation, and the student has been arrested.

We are confident the police have thoroughly investigated and resolved the matter. We appreciate their swift response, and we will also follow our student code of conduct. A threat will never be tolerated.

Safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we appreciate our partnership with law enforcement. We will always investigate these matters thoroughly. You can help. If your child ever brings any comments or concerns to you, please reach out to us.
