Drivers in the metro area woke up to the first significant snow of the season on Monday and plenty of slick streets.
Omaha Police went on Accident Alert due to several crashes. Drivers involved in a non-injury accident were asked to exchange information.
Blondo was shut down near 68th Street when a fire truck responding to an accident slid on the slick pavement. The truck wound up stuck sideways, blocking traffic. Sand and tow trucks were brought in.
Omaha buses were also running slow due to the weather. Go to ometro.com for the most up to date information for buses on snow routes.
The major roads were reported in good shape but residential and side streets are still slick. The metro area ended up with about 1.5 inches of snow.
