An Omaha house is a total loss after a fire late Monday night. Smoke and flames were coming from the two story home near 25th and Spaulding when firefighters arrived around 11:00.
Firefighters initially fought the fire from the outside. Once they got it knocked down, crews made their way through the back door. Investigators say the fire was difficult to reach because of the hoarding conditions inside.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out with no one being injured. Investigators say the cause of the fire was burning wood that was used to keep the house warm. Gas and power had been shutoff prior to the fire.
