OMAHA, Nebraska - Time is ticking to finish up road construction before winter arrives.
6 News reports that construction crews are working hard to get them done. One of the largest in the works is the Harrison Street Project that started two years ago. If all goes as planned, that should be complete by November 11th.
Denny Wilson, Sarpy County Engineer tells 6 News, “We have widened to a full section which will be 5 lanes with turn lanes and that will help ease traffic concerns a great deal and relive some of those accidents.”
Lane change signs will be up on West Maple Road for a while. Crews are repairing and resurfacing eight miles. Work there should be done in about a year. At 72nd and Maple, new traffic signals and sidewalks are being installed. That should be done in the spring.
The next big project in the works is between 168th to 204th and Giles. Repaving will take two years to complete.
