Two Arrests Made In Omaha Police Shoplifting Sting

OMAHA, Nebraska - Omaha Police conducted an anti-theft operation along the West Maple Road corridor between 129th and 171st Street On Wednesday, October 24th. Uniform and plain clothes detectives partnered with several businesses to address thefts in progress.

In just four hours the following arrests were made:

40 year old Aaron Davis was arrested and booked on two counts of misdemeanor theft by shoplifting, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was in possession of 3 stolen items of merchandise amounting to $328.00 belonging to two different retailers. He also had 5 misdemeanor arrest warrants through Douglas County, one misdemeanor arrest warrant through Sarpy County and one misdemeanor arrest warrant through Washington County. He was also arrested for an unsolved shoplifting case that occurred last month.

20 year old Nareisha Washington was arrested for two counts of felony shoplifting. She was in possession of 14 stolen items of merchandise amounting to $313.00 belonging to two different retailers. She was also in possession of multiple devices to try and defeat anti-theft mechanisms retailers commonly use.

As the holiday season approaches, detectives plan on working more of these operations to address ongoing thefts and to assist in making the retail areas of Omaha safer for everyone.
