After Days On The Run, Kennedy Now In Custody

OMAHA, Nebraska - On Wednesday evening, Omaha Police received information that Jamie Kennedy was at the Grandridge Apartments at 100th and Crown Point Plaza. Uniform officers and members of the Gang Unit, K-9 Unit, Fugitive Task Force and Air Support Unit all arrived to try to take Kennedy into custody.

Kennedy had barricaded himself inside a garage at the apartments. SWAT and negotiators arrived on the scene. Officers eventually took Kennedy into custody without incident. He was booked for multiple felony warrants.

Police in Omaha and Council Bluffs had been searching for Kennedy for several days. On Wednesday, he was spotted near 57th and Fowler after leaving officers on a chase.

On Tuesday, Kennedy led law enforcement on a high speed chase from Council Bluffs into Omaha, going the wrong way on I-480. Prior to that, police say he rammed a Council Bluffs cruiser trying to make a get-away.

Kennedy was originally wanted for domestic violence. The list of offenses continued to grow as he ran from police.
