Fate Of Reign Lounge Is Up To Liquor Control Commission

OMAHA, Nebraska - The Omaha City Council has made a decision on what to do with the Reign Lounge near 30th and Fillmore. Today they voted that the owner must fill out another long form application and reapply for a liquor license through the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.

6 News reports that neighbors of the lounge in Florence had videos for the council to view that showed crowds, noise, cars and disturbances. Omaha Police also had a list of complaints that range from assaults to gunfire. In January of 2018, Army Sgt. Kyle LeFlore was shot and killed at the lounge while home on leave.

The Council voted to let the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission decide the bar's fate.

The owner told the Council that only a few neighbors have complained and he questioned if the city welcomes minority owned businesses.
