Harrah's And Horseshoe Fined For Underage Gambling

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - Harrah's and Horseshoe Casinos in Council Bluffs will have to pay a $50,000 fine for allowing two minors on the grounds.

The first investigation was May 21st of 2019 when an underage boy was allowed into the Horseshoe Casino. He apparently bought alcoholic beverages and gambled for hours. He did present identification to security and was questioned three times by the security officer.

The Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission released a document that minor bought 13 drinks without being asked for identification and gambled for seven hours. Security finally approached the boy after he was accused of inappropriate contact with a female. That is when they found out he was under age.

The Horseshoe Casino was fined $30,000.

The second incident happened on April 8, 2019 at Harrah's when an underage female was allowed into the gambling area without having her identification checked.

The Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission reported the girl had been gambling for 42 minutes when security questioned her about asking other guests for money. The girl was banned for 24 hours for panhandling and that is when they found out she was under age. The operators of Harrah's, Harvey's Iowa Management Co. LLC, was fined $20,000.
