OMAHA, Nebraska - An Omaha man will spend just over seven years in prison after being convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On November 18, 2018, Omaha police received a call to the Motel 6 on South 84th Street. The caller stated that someone was causing a disturbance inside a vehicle in the parking lot.Police found 31 year old Damingo Burks in the driver's seat asleep.
Officers were able to see a methamphetamine pipe on Burks' lap. Officers then asked him to step out of the vehicle and a handgun fell to the ground.
Burks was a convicted felon at the time.The case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.
