The Atlanta Bombing in 1996 is a curious case, ripe for movie making. Clint Eastwood's latest directorial effort is Richard Jewell, diving deep into the Olympic bombing in 96 and the security hailed as a hero by some, and a monster by others.
Paul Walter Hauser (I, Tonya) plays the titular Jewell. Sam Rockwell plays the attorney defending the security guard. Jon Hamm plays a cop tasked with finding the bomber. Kathey Bates plays Jewell's mother.
The movie is sure to deal with issues of terrorism, fake news, and more. Looks like a sure-fire awards contender to me.
Richard Jewell hits theaters this December.
