With the release of Joker this week, there was sure to be a trailer for the Harley Quinn movie attached to it and DC/Warner Bros have gone ahead and released that to the public today. The spin-off to Suicide Squad (not a sequel to this week's Joker - in fact not related to that movie in any way. Confusing? Yes.) stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn who appears to just be going on a 2-hour crime spree in this film.
The movie looks quirky, slightly edgy, seems to have some sort of "girl power" element to it. I liked it, I didn't love it. A peculiar February release date also is cause for concern (great movies don't come out in January or February) as well. We'll see what happens when (sharp inhale) Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn comes out early next year.
