Garbage Truck Tips Onto A Pickup After Losing Control On A Curve

OMAHA, Nebr. - A garbage truck ended on its side at 60th and Harrison.

Police say that just after 2 p.m. Thursday, a northbound garbage truck was headed north on 60th Street and lost control on a curve. That truck hit a 1987 Ford F150. The garbage truck then rolled onto the driver's side.

Omaha Fire and La Vista Fire crews worked to get the driver of the pickup out. That driver, 79 year old Daniel Batenhorst of Papillion was taken to a hospital with serious head and chest injuries.

The driver of the garbage truck, 23 year old Di'zuan Seavers of Omaha was treated at the scene for cuts to the head and refused transport. The garbage truck is owned by Premier Waste Solutions of Omaha. Charges against the driver are pending.
