Boswell's Murder Trial Moved To Lexington

Saline County District Judge Vicky Johnson granted a change of venue for the murder trial of Bailey Boswell. She is charged with 1st degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and improper disposal of human remains in the death of 24 year old Sydney Loofe of Lincoln in November of 2017.

Boswell's trial is set to start on March 16th and it will be held in the District Courtroom in Lexington. Judge Johnson says the publicity will make it impossible for Boswell to receive a fair trial in Saline County or in other areas of southeast Nebraska.

Boswell faces the death penalty if convicted.

Aubrey Trail was found guilty of killing Loofe in July. His attorney also requested a new trial stating his rights were violated. The request for a mistrial was denied after Trail sliced his neck with a razor blade. Trail's attorney also filed a motion last month saying the death penalty statute is unconstitutional. He will be back in court on September 11th in Saline County.
