Man Injured In West Omaha Crash Dies

Douglas County authorities say a man who was critically injured in a two vehicle crash near 229th and West Center Road Saturday afternoon has died.

The sheriff's department says 29 year old Robert O'Brien was a passenger in an eastbound Chevy Impala, driven by Michelle Cryne, that been stopped with its turn signal on waiting to turn into a driveway.

Investigators say the car was then rear ended by a pickup, driven Nicholas Glenning of Sarpy County. When deputies arrived they found O'Brien was critically injured and undergoing life saving measures.

Deputies observed a pickup truck on its side in the middle of the road and the Chevy Impala on the north side of the road. A dog that was in the Impala was killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
