Council Bluffs police say a 3-year-old boy is safe after he was sitting in a car that had been stolen Wednesday morning.
The child was left in a running vehicle at the Casey's store at 23rd and South Expressway around 7:15 a.m. when police say a man hopped in and drove away. .
The vehicle was left abandoned only a block or two away from the store with the child still inside. The search continues for the driver.
