Omaha Police Department Respond To Use Of Force Video Circulating

The Omaha Police Department is aware of a video that is circulating on social media that shows two Gang Unit detectives making contact with a motorcyclist. The video shows that the motorcyclist was pushed off the bike and then arrested.

The incident happened Sunday, August 18th at 5:45 p.m. Two Gang Unit detectives saw a motorcycle driving recklessly in the Miller Park area on North 30th Street. The motorcycle was popping wheelies, driving into oncoming traffic, weaving in and out of traffic and driving on the sidewalk.

Detectives pulled the motorcyclist over and when officers went to approach, the driver took off. Police say this happened at least twice.

The video circulating on social media shows that when the Gang Unit detectives approached the citizen the last time, after he pulled into a driveway, the motorcyclist was pushed to the ground and later handcuffed.
