Massive spring flooding may have damaged Hamburg, Iowa but there are signs the community is coming back.
Stoner Drug Store is again open. It is a pharmacy and also well known in the area for its old fashioned soda fountain.
The owners of The Blue Moon Bar and Grill hope to reopen in two weeks. Owner Eric Sjulin tells 6 News it was a tough decision to make. What helped nudge him along was encouragement by neighbors and the repairs to the levee that protects the town from flooding.
Sjulin hopes to have the bar and grill open in time for Hamburg's annual founder's day celebration known as Popcorn Days.
