Bond Set For Bellevue Man Accused In Police Chase

A Bellevue man had bond set at $500,000 after being accused of leading Nebraska State Patrol troopers on a chase Thursday.

54 year old Jack Costello waived his preliminary hearing in front of a judge today. He is facing a long list of charges

Around 2:45 a.m. Thursday, a trooper saw Costello's vehicle run a stop sign at 69th and Grant Street. That is when the chase started and continued on to I-80. Authorities say that Costello crossed several lanes of traffic and tried to hit a state trooper who was trying to put down stop sticks. That trooper dove into a ditch to prevent injury. Two vehicles were hit in the case, including a Nebraska State Patrol cruiser.

Costello remains in custody in Douglas County.
