Extra safety precautions were put in place at a dangerous intersection. There is now a three-way stop at 84th Street and Platteview Road.
Sarpy County Engineer Dennis Wilson explains to 6 News how problematic this intersection has been. “It’s been a real problem trying to come up with a solution because it’s designed for lower volumes and lower speeds,” said Wilson.
This follows a study of that intersection after two deadly accidents.
Some believe the stop signs need to be replaced with a traffic light. Authorities are looking into several permanent options that include a stop light or widening the lanes.
