Omaha Police Believe There May Be More Child Sex Assault Victims

Omaha Police Department's Child Victim Sexual Assault Unit believes there may be more victims of suspect Joseph Pierce. These victims may be in and around the Omaha metro area as police say Pierce often traveled bordering states.

54 year old Pierce was arrested for first degree sexual assault of a child on July 3rd. This incident initially occurred on 1997 or 1998 bur was not reported until 2005. Investigators had been looking for Pierce to question him on those accusations since 2005 and notified surrounding agencies.

On December 5, 2018, Bellevue Police contacted the Omaha Police Special Investigations Section and said they had contact with Pierce. the victim was re-interviewed as well as the victim's family and neighbors who lived in the area at the time of the original incident. At that time a warrant was granted for Pierce's arrest. He was located in Indiana and extradited to Nebraska.

Omaha Police say other incidents could have occurred as late as the 1990's up to his arrest in 2919. This photo of Pierce was taken in 2005 as police believe that may helpful for identification purposes.
