Nebraska US Senator Ben Sasse made an important announcement Monday evening.
Sasse said, "Tonight we want to stand here before you and announce our candidacy for US Senate again."
Sasse made the announcement at the Millard Airport. He says he and he is family are grateful and excited and ready to work hard. He also made some lighthearted comments about the bus he used six years ago to tour the state but is serious about getting to work for Nebraskans and the nation.
Sasse went says there are many challenges facing the nation that include opioids, racial hatred because people don't understand the American ideal. He says what is at stake in 2020 is a choice between civics and a choice of socialism.
Attending and speaking at Monday's announcement included Governor Pete Ricketts, Congressmen Don Bacon and Jeff Fortenberry, Governor Dave Heineman, Governor Kay Orr and Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert.
