Three Men Wounded In Separate Shootings In Omaha

Omaha Police say three men were wounded in separate shootings early Sunday morning. The first incident happened around 12:30 a.m. when 24 year old Jared Gooden Officers was shot near 22nd and Lake Streets. Officers spoke to Gooden after he arrived at the hospital.

Gooden told officers he was walking in the area when he was shot. Investigators said Gooden was unsure who pulled the trigger. About two hours after that, officers near 24th and Burdette streets heard gunshots. When officers responded they found 22 year old Calvin Strong with several gunshot wounds. Strong was taken to Nebraska Medicine in serious condition.

Then just before 3:00 a.m. police responded to 28th Avenue and Lothrop Street. They found 41 year old Denovous Brooks with gunshot wounds. Brooks told investigators he was shot by two unknown men. Paramedics took Brooks to Nebraska Medicine for treatment.

All three men are expected to recover. Police are still investigating al three shootings. Anyone with information on any or all of the shootings is urged to call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP (7867). Tips leading to an arrest in a shooting are eligible for a $10,000 reward.
