Four people escaped after a house caught fire early Thursday morning. When firefighters pulled up to the home near 32nd and Polk around 5:30 the attached garage was engulfed in flames.
A vehicle parked inside was destroyed. Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the house, but it did sustain smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and the Red Cross is helping the four residents with other living arrangements. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
