Here's a sentence that sounds right out of a Mad Libs book. John Travolta stars in the new Fred Durst movie. Yes, the lead "singer" of Limp Bizkit directs movies now. I've never seen any of them, but they're actually not the worst in the world from what I read. He's no Francis Ford Coppola, but he's working his way up the ladder.
Travolta stars in 'The Fanatic', a story of an obsessed fan that stalks an action movie star (played by Devon Sawa, which I don't have time to get into, that's how wacky this movie is)
The last five Travolta movies have garnered a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, an unfathomable run of failure. The Fanatic looks like it will become the sixth. Which begs the question, why does Travolta do these movies? He's not like Nic Cage where there's a tax problem and he's gotta consistently work to pay the bills. Travolta is fine financially, by all accounts. Does Travolta just enjoy working? Why not wait for better scripts to come around? Maybe they aren't, I don't know, but he doesn't need to do this.
The Fanatic hits streaming platforms on September 6th.
