Update: Lincoln Woman Shot To Death Identified

Update: Lincoln Police released the name of the woman shot and killed inside her home at 3:46 a.m. Wednesday as 34 year old Audrea Craig.

Police say that Craig had been shot in the chest.

Lincoln Police Department and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office investigators and crime scene technicians responded and processed the scene for forensic and digital evidence, as well as conducted a neighborhood canvass for additional witnesses.

Investigators are working closely with Audrea’s friends and family. We are keeping her family in our thoughts as we work through this tragedy. We ask that you continue to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time as they grieve her death.

Lincoln Police are searching for whoever shot and killed a 34-year-old woman in a home on South 26th Street Wednesday morning.

Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister says officers responded to the home after someone called 911 and said a woman who had been shot. "There were eight individuals at the home, including six children, a 20-year-old male, and the victim," Bliemeister says. "The children ranged in age from 6 to 16 years old. The first arriving officers found the female inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds."
