One of the worst kept secrets in the movie biz was that Jamie Lee Curtis was in talks to revive her Laurie Strode character yet again for another Halloween sequel. Last year's Halloween reboot grossed $250 million worldwide, so it is no surprise that a sequel was officially announced today.
The surprise is that ANOTHER sequel was announced today completing a trilogy. "Halloween Kills" was announced with an October 16,2020 release date and the third film, "Halloween Ends" was also announced. The final installment hitting theaters on October 15,2021. Presumably these two will be filmed back-to-back.
The original Halloween is my favorite movie of all-time. The reboot was better than it had any right being. I'm excited for two more chapters with Laurie Strode. Also, kudos to the studio for announcing the titles too so we don't have the lame "What do we call it, Halloween 2 or Halloween 12?" debate.
