Allow me to be the one millionth person to tell you to watch the Top Gun trailer. The sequel to the 1986 classic brings back Tom Cruise as his Maverick character. Still doing the same things he was doing 30 years ago.
My thought when this project was announced was that they were going to hurt the original film by creating a poor sequel. It was a clear cash grab and there was no story to tell. After seeing this trailer, I might have to eat a little bit of crow. This movie looks pretty good! I'm thrilled to be wrong. Now, anyone can make two minutes of a movie look good. But Tom Cruise does his own stunts, and is always looking to push the bar, so there's excitement there. The trailer lays out a bit of plot for Maverick. An aging vet looking for one last mission. Makes sense to me! I'm all in on Top Gun: Maverick.
