Investigators Say Speed, Alcohol Factors In Gretna Crash That Killed Four

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Department says the driver of the vehicle involved in the Gretna crash that killed four teenage girls and injured a fifth was legally drunk and driving at speeds that exceeded 90 mph.

Investigators say The 16-year-old driver, Abigail Barth, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.09. Sarpy County authorities say the passengers in the vehicle had the following blood alcohol readings:

Roan Brandon: 0.05

Alexandria Minardi: 0.02

Kloe Odermatt: 0.1

Addisyn Pfeifer: 0.0

Investigators say the 2017 Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound on Platteview Road when it left the roadway near 180th Street, came to rest in a creek and caught on fire. In a press release investigators said "The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation to determine the origin of the alcohol that was provided to occupants of the vehicle prior to the accident.. The Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office regarding any potential charges."
