Lawsuit Filed Against Millard School District

The Millard Public School District is being sued by the family of one of Matthew Fedde's victims.

Fedde was sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison for attempted sexual assault of a student after taking a plea deal after he was charged with having relations with a 15 year old student. The lawsuit claims Principal Heidi Weaver Assistant Principals Michelle Klug and Andrew Pinkall and former Assistant Principal Kip Colony missed several warning signs of inappropriate behavior.

The lawsuit claims that Colony, Klug and Pinkall saw the students go into Fedde's office several times a week. The apparently did ask Fedde about the visits but did nothing to intervene.

The family claims the district failed to stop Fedde from preying on their daughter. They also claim the girl suffered emotional distress.

Fedde was arrested after the student's father found a journal detailing the encounters. The girl's parents also complained to the school staying she was being bullied following Fedde's arrest. They were told by the administrators that they should advise their daughter to ignore it.

The family is seeking unknown damages and they are demanding a jury trial.
