Two King Penguin Chicks On Display At Henry Doorly Zoo

The penguin population at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is growing.

Two king penguin chicks hatched in March and they are are now on display in the Antarctic Penguin Habitat at the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium.

The two chicks are in a pen and will remain there until their feathers are waterproof and they can join the other penguins.

What is unusual is that these chicks were raised by two males instead of a male and female. The public is invited to stop by at feeding time. They are hand-fed at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily.
