A child is in custody for allegedly starting a fire at a home near 16th and Emmett Wednesday evening.
Smoke and flames were coming from the rear of the home when firefighters arrived around 5:45. Investigators say the fire started on the outside of the house.
The damage was bad enough that one adult and three children will have to find another place to stay. The Red Cross is now assisting them.
Investigators haven't said if the child taken into custody is one of the three that lived there. No one was injured and damage is estimated at $15,000.
